Introduction

It’s time for some collective couples therapy.

The majority of us are involved in an unhealthy relationship with the internet, and we’ve been in it so long that we don’t recognize just how unhealthy it is. We think it’s normal that our search engines and web browsers spy on us, tracking our every move online and collecting data that they then sell to the highest bidder. We think it’s okay that companies create profiles about us in order to follow us around with creepy ads and influence what we see on the internet.

We’ve been made to believe that creepy is caring. That the surveillance economy is necessary.

Let’s stop the insanity by opening people’s eyes and inviting them to see that things don’t have to be this way. Thanks to DuckDuckGo, a search engine and private browser with powerful tracker-blocking technology, a healthy relationship with the internet is possible.
